This all started back in
the 1700s in England. Their cherries were enclosed in chocolate with little
cordial liqueur. After getting into the united states of America, Americans

chocolate with liqueur. Although originally made with the liqueur,
cordials/chocolate covered cherries are more commonly made with a sugar syrup
flavored with cherries.
