About this day
Happy National Trivia Day |
Trivia, in ancient times, meant something new. In the
1960s, sentimental students along with many others who were interested, began
to ask and start dealing with questions and answers between each other about
the popular culture of youth. Ed Goodgold and Dan Carlinsky were students from
Columbia University, these were the very first one who organized earliest
inter-college quiz bowls that tested the participants culturally and
emotionally significant, yet this was virtually useless information but an
event like these caught many's attention and they were drawn to it. Trivia
(Dell, 1966) was the first book authored by Ed Goodgold and Dan Carlinsky. And
this book treated trivia at a very whole new level and a very revolutionary new
sense. This book was so successful that it even attained a ranking on the New
York Times bestseller list.
·
Over time, the word "trivia" has come
to mention as a subject that has not been known or discovered. This was also
taken as a subject that is not understood by many and this was bits of dry
knowledge as well as nostalgic remembrances of pop culture.
·
In North America, the game, Trivial pursuit
peaked in 1984, a year in which more than 20 million games were sold and this
was the year in which was noted as one of those years in which most games were
sold.
